About Akenberg

Akenberg 2.0

A new chapter.

Akenberg is a Swedish design practice based in Luleå, founded by AnnKathrin Lundqvist. Working across objects, space, and material, the studio explores a restrained and tactile design language rooted in the north.

Each piece is developed slowly.
In small editions.
With attention to material, weight, and presence.

In contrast to a culture of constant replacement, Akenberg proposes objects with longevity — objects that settle into their context and remain.

The name Akenberg derives from Lundqvist’s maiden name and initials. A personal framework, where design, craft, and spatial thinking converge.

Influenced by the harsh landscapes of northern Scandinavia — wind, light, and seasonal shifts — the work is defined by muted tones, quiet surfaces, and balanced forms.

Akenberg 2.0 continues this exploration, moving further into the intersection of design, art, and architecture.

Not objects of excess.
But of intention.

Not made to circulate.
But to stay.

A new chapter.
